It’s been a big year for us!
You know we love a good adventure and this year was full of them!
Home.
We are so grateful for this past year! We were able to buy our own home here in Denver and spent a good amount of time (and blood and sweat and tears) renovating it. We got help from Jenna’s parents, Tim and Tammy, friends who helped us paint or let us borrow tools, and phone calls to Chris’ brother and bro-in-law for expertise in fixing things up.
It was a lot of work, but it’s now our home :)
Travel.
Mexico is always going to hold a special place in our hearts since our wedding in Cancun. At the beginning of this year we were able to go back there and escape the Colorado cold for a bit. Chris’ mom, sister, and niece were able to join for part of the trip and explore Riviera Maya with us. The town of Puerto Morelos has become an annual pilgrimage for us and something we are excited to continue this year!
Early this year, we started our own creative studio, Paragraphe (whose lovely website you are currently on). Chris is helping brands and organizations create content, build visual identities, and craft marketing materials. Our vision for this studio expands beyond client work and, to that end, we were able to make several more trips throughout the year to craft travel films, curate itineraries, and share those experiences. We will be releasing many of these things over the coming months and can’t wait to share with y’all!
Stay posted for updates from Paris, Japan, San Francisco, Boston, Mexico, and more!
Life.
At the end of last year, Jenna finished her Masters in Agribusiness at Murray State! That set the tone for some big milestones in our life throughout the year, with Jenna getting a promotion to Capital Markets Associate from Capital Markets Analyst, Chris being able to leave his old job to work with Paragraphe full time starting in May, and Hazel turning 5 years old in July!
Running.
On December 8, we completed the California International Marathon (CIM). This was Chris’ third and Jenna’s first chip timed marathon (having completed her first unofficial marathon during COVID). We set our sites on personal bests and spent this fall training to that end. Jenna smashed her previous record by almost 10 minutes. Though Chris didn’t quite beat his previous time (hard to improve on perfection. lol.) and had a rough day overall, tremendous progress was made in training and we are excited for whatever the sport has for us in the future.
Future.
We are excited to launch our new projects with Paragraphe early next year. From travel films and guides to physical products and collectable prints, it promises to be another year of adventure!
